The Guernsey Disability Hustings took place at St Pierre Hotel on Wednesday 16th September.
It was very well attended by 108 people, providing a voice for everyone affected by disability including the hard working carers. Four members of the Guernsey Multiple Sclerosis Society Committee, represented the many people affected by MS on Guernsey.
Karen Blanchford from 'We All Matter Eh? Projects', writes ' We are still waiting for many of the Disability and Inclusion Strategy actions to be completed and have other issues that have arisen that need to be addressed. We were very happy that the States unanimously approved the drafting instructions for the new anti-discrimination legislation in August. However, we need to maintain the pressure on the next government to ensure that this essential protection is enacted, with the support of education and information'.
