Get fit to feel good07/08/2020
It is back in March 2019 that I last wrote about the benefits of exercise so I thought it was time to mention it again. It seems even more important in these current and strange times the world finds itself in.
The benefits of exercise include an increase in energy, helps relieve depression, helps with relaxation and sleep, good for both muscles and bones, increases interaction with other people and of course helps with weight loss.
Even if you prefer not to join a gym then a walk, particularly at this time of year can improve your mood. I take my Westie for a walk every day and usually return home in a better mood than when I left the house.
Another passion of mine is yoga, the benefits of which have been known about for over 5,000 years ago when it first began in India. Yoga Improves your flexibility, builds strength, improves your posture, prevents cartilage and joint breakdown, and helps to protect your spine. If you would like to join me in one of the yoga classes I attend, then visit Alice Marshall at her website http://www.aliceyoga.com or look her up on her Facebook page or her Instagram account at Bhagavati108.
Locally we have the Guernsey U3A group who offer many groups including American Square Dancing, Badminton, Tai Chi, Sea Swimming, Scottish Country Dancing, walking groups and the Beach Womblers, which means you could help keep our beaches clean whilst exercising. For further information please visit their website at: https://u3asites.org.uk/guernsey/home
There is the also a local walking group which would offer you some company on your walks, for more information on these walks please visit:
