Let’s eat more fruit19/06/2020
Want a reason to eat more fruit? Then here's a good one; scientists have discovered a link between ursolic acid, which is a compound found in the peel of fruit, and the promotion of myelin repair. The acid appears to stimulate stem cells to produce Oligodendrocytes, which are a type of cell found in the central nervous system, and which make myelin sheath.
Whist this is not a cure, scientists hope that it could improve the quality of life of some of those affected by MS. Further trials are taking place, but in the meantime if you would like to find out more then follow the links below.
