The Rowathon 2021 was a different affair for several reasons. First the original february date was cancelled because of our second lockdown, and secondly it had to find a new home as the Beau Sejour concourse was off limits due to the vaccination programme. So on November 14th a fantastic event took place at the Indoor Fitness Centre at Houge du Pommier. The new venue attracted new participants because of existing fitness clubs at the centre who wanted to participate. In all 17 teams took part and the buzz was fantastic. Added to which Simon Johns finished his world record 24 hr row during the event! We are incredibly grateful to Mark Windsor, and the Guernsey Rowing club who organised the event and to all the teams who agreed to sweat it out on our behalf. In addition, Jon Ravenscroft made a further extremely generous donation to the event.
The total amount raised is not yet known, but is already very impressive'.
